How to fix the broken tab on the trash collector:

• If the trash Collector has been removed improperly, i.e. yanked out horizontally instead of gently lifted up vertically, the plastic tab on the lower right corner of the trash collector might be broken.

• The tub pushes the button on the right lower of the printer as shown.

• The quickest way to temporarily fix it is to take a piece of paper out of the trash collector and fold it like so.

• Jam it into receiving hole as shown, replace trash collector, and close the printer.

• There is no Error Light! Good job!

You can also check the top of the inside of the printer. There is a sticker with diagrams and different meanings of the color lights. You can use this to troubleshoot.
